Just as the remains of
the victims of the previous devastating Jos twin explosion were buried
yesterday, yet another blast rocked the Plateau State capital at about 9 p.m.
today.
The authorities are yet
to issue a statement regarding the incident, and casualty figure is yet to be
ascertained.
Residents suggest the
explosion occurred along Bauchi Road, near the old University of Jos Teaching
Hospital in Jos North local government area. They add the sound of explosion
could be heard from afar and that it could have possibly occurred at a viewer
center where people gathered to watch today's football match, Champions' League
final (Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid).
The location, they say, is near a car
park, few meters away from a security checkpoint.
It would be recalled that
hundreds of Jos residents were killed four days ago in a series of two
explosions at the city's crowded Terminus market.
