Tragedy struck in Owo, Ondo State yesterday as a 14- year-old boy
was struck to death by thunderstorm during an early morning downpour. The
incident, which occurred at Owaalaye Street, Ehinogbe in the town, left the
residents of the area in palpable fear

The remains of the boy, identified as Ojo Suberu, were lying
in the room where the thunder allegedly struck him to death.
Witnesses said that when the thunderstorm struck, accompanied with
heavy lightening, the building where the incident occurred was engulfed with
smoke.
Speaking with Daily Sun, the deceased’s mother, Mrs Bosede
Suberu denied that it was the strike that killed her son, stressing that Ojo
was convulsive which made him highly allergic to sudden noise.
As at the time of filing this report,the body of the deceased was
still lying in the room while the attention of traditionalists have been drawn
to the incident with the aim of performing necessary rituals before his remains
could be taken for burial.
